New Update To Our Web Hosting Domain Manager
29.08.2008

We are pleased to notify our customers of a new update that was recently made into our web hosting system. It concerns the Domain Manager available to our clients in their Web Hosting Control Panels and has mainly affected the domains' statuses field. All our customers' domain names will be now presented with detailed and up-to-date information about their current statuses, four new statuses will be featuring as well.

At the 'Status' column of the Domain Manager the four new statuses will be displayed with the above-displayed type icons, opening tooltips with detailed information about each of them. From the Expiration/Renewal column the customers will be able to open additional tooltips providing options for according domain action.

New domain statuses details:

Redemption Grace Period (RGP) - a period of up to 30 days following a domain name's expiration. The good news about this period is that during it the domain name owner can easily retrieve the domain name from deletion and renew it against a small redemption fee. The customer simply needs to open a tooltip from the 'Expiration/Renewal' field of the Domain Manager and take advantage of the automatic renewal option provided. In calculating the final price of the domain's renewal, the redemption fee will be added to its renewal price.

Extended Redemption Grace Period (Extended RGP) - a grace period of another 7 - 30 days when the domain name can be retrieved from deletion and renewed. In this period however the domain name owner cannot renew the domain name automatically, he/or she needs to contact our supports team and send them the renewal request. 'Open support ticket' option will be automatically displayed in the domain's tooltip opened from the Expiration/Renewal column of the Domain Manager.

Pending delete period - now this period is displayed only for your notification, since no action can be taken during it. It only indicates that the domain name has been blocked by its Registry and will be returned in 3 to 5 days back into the public pool of domain names. If it's very important for the domain name owner to renew the domain name, this period notification can be quite useful as it is helping the customer to get ready to take action in the next period.

Released from registry - this status shows that the domain name has been released for public registration. Now this is the time when the customer has to act very quickly and get the domain name back (if he/or she hasn't been able to do that in the previous periods). An option will be provided in the Expiration/Renewal Domain Manager field with registration of the domain name preserving its old WHOIS information. The customer can take advantage of this opportunity and newly register the domain name. If, however, the domain name has been already taken, the customer can avail of the option to register a new domain name with the same second-level title and a different TLD (top-level domain extension).

We hope that this Domain Manager update will prove useful for our customers and will make the management of their domain names as easy as a breeze.

With compliments, from 50Webs Hosting
