New File Manger Version 2.01 Released

To the attention of all our present and prospective customers. 50Webs is happy to inform you that a new File Manager version has been released thanks to the extensive update work of our Developers Department.

After the launch of our in-house built tool - File Manager version 2.0, we received a lot of positive feedback and valuable comments and recommendations from our customers utilizing the new software. Based on those advices our developers focused on further improving the functionality of the file managing tool and input all their efforts and skills to make it even better fitting to your hosting needs.

Now, presenting the new version released - File Manager 2.01, we are happy to engage your attention with all new features introduced:

1. File/folder tooltips (you can open these tooltips by simply clicking on a file name/or a folder type icon) - in this version the 'Download' and 'Open' options are featured separately. Previously, they were offered as one Open/Download activity.

2. New button has been added to the up and down Actions toolbars - 'Download'. The new 'Download' action enabled allows you to select multiple files for download. The chosen items are automatically generated in a .ZIP archive and downloaded to your PC.

3. Folders are also available for download now. The folders download runs on the same principle as the multiple files download.

4. Archive/ZIP option has also been activated for folders in this File Manager version. It makes a .ZIP file from the selected folder, and saves the archive on the server.

5. The file/folder information fields have a new type icon added - 'Permissions'. Clicking on it, you can gain access to the permissions set for the respective directory location and make any necessary changes.

6. 'Enter Custom Path' - this is a new field, allowing users to input the name of a directory that they wish to open in the File Manager's File Listing Panel. This option has a time-saving functionality, as it gives you the possibility to quickly and easily open directory locations that are well-known to you, without having to browse to those locations folder by folder.

7. 'Quick Links Path' - if the name in this field is not displayed for full, you have the possibility now to view the full name by simply mousing over it.

8. This tooltip function is also available in the file/folder information fields of the File Listing Panel. You need to only mouse over a file/folder (not fully displayed there) to see its entire name.

9. Another new option included in the File Listing Panel's functionality is the possibility to sort your files and folders by Name and Size. Important: By name can be sorted all files and folders, while the Size option is available only for the files' list.

10. The Plain Text Editor of the File Manager has also undergone a substantial update. Many fixes have been performed to improve its functionality, also several new features have been introduced:

• 'GO TO LINE' field - this is a new field wherein users can type the number of a line that they wish to edit and then, pressing the 'Enter' key, move directly to the desired line in the document (for example, in such cases: "syntax/fatal error on line 54").
• In the previous File Manager version, the saving and closing the window actions were entrusted to one button - 'Save'. With this update, two new buttons were introduced: 'Apply Changes' - it will perform the saving/applying the last changes action; and 'Save And Close' - it will confirm the saving process and close the window.
• Saving with Ctrl+S key combination is also possible in this File Manager version.
• Last but not less important, support for syntax check of the PHP code has been added, as well.
