The .EU TLD Now Available for Registration at 50webs
13.11.2007
50webs is glad to present to your attention the newest TLD introduced in the Control Panel of the paid hosting accounts!
The long expected .EU TLD has finally been made available for registration through the Control Panel of the paid accounts. It took us longer then usual to incorporate this TLD in our domain list but we hope that it's been surely worth waiting for. The management of this TLD includes the following characteristics:
The .EU TLD is indicative of the European Union and therefore, can be registered by any person or organization established within its frame borders.
Registration Period: The registration period for .EU domain names is 1 year, with the opportunity for renewals of further 1 year.
Domain Renewal: Renewal requests will be accepted by the date of expiration (e.g. September 14th, 2008) or by the 20th of the month of expiration, in cases when the date of expiration is after that date (e.g. September 25th, 2008).
Example: If the name expires on Sept 14th, 2008, then a renewal request must be received by Sept 14th, 2008. If a name expires on September 25th, 2008, the renewal request must be received prior to September 20th, 2008.
Pre-Configuration: Please, keep in mind, that there is a specific condition set by the EURid Registry, concerning the registrant's location or origin. Due to that condition, the registration interface will demand a valid address within the European Union to be given by the registrant, for to gain approval of the registration. The information will be then checked by the EURid Registry, before the actual approval. It is our duty to notify the registrant in case the domain registration has been rejected and to provide the reason for the rejection.
WHOIS Management: After the registration, it is not possible to further edit the WHOIS information of .EU domain names. Of course, partial changes are allowed as an exception, via the ticketing system available in the Help Center of the web hosting Control panel, however the changes that have been requested must not concern the personal or company name of the registrant, because modification of such information is referred to as 'formal transfer'. In order to change that information and, thus, execute a formal transfer of the domain ownership, the registrant must address the EURid registry for assistance.
WHOIS / ID Protection: This service is not available for .EU domain names.
Registrar Change / Transfer: It is not possible to change the registrar of an .EU domain name.
We hope that the availability of the new TLD, together with our capacity to host websites on servers located in Europe (Maidenhead, UK), will assure our European customers to receive much friendlier and higher-quality hosting services.
