.DE TLD Available in the Paid Hosting Accounts

The .DE TLD (top-level domain) has been made available in the Control Panel of the 50Webs paid hosting accounts. This is the German domain extension and we are glad to make it available for registration and management to our customers. However, one should have in mind that the registry of this domain, DENIC, has set a few special requirements for the management of this domain and the execution of the domain registration.

WHOIS / Contact Information:The Registry of this domain, DENIC, demands a street address or P.O. Box within Germany to be specified in the field of the administrative contact information, in order for the registration to be approved. For that requirement to be fulfilled, there is an additional step included in the registration process, in which, after the approval of the WHOIS information, the German address of the P.O. Box has to be further confirmed. If, for some reason, the information is not ranked as "correct", the .DE registry, DENIC, has the right to reject the request for registration and, if that is the case, the registrant will be specifically notified.
Registration Period:The registration period is optional to choose from periods of 1 to 10 years. Renewals for several years are possible as well.
Domain Renewal:DE domain name is due to renewal up to 10 days before the date of expiry. After that the registry gives the domain name a "Transit" status and tries to make a contact with the registrant. If they get no response in 4 weeks, the domain is transferred to DENICdirect for management and then the registrant must address them, if they wish to gain possession of the same domain name again.
WHOIS / ID Protection:This service is unavailable for .DE domain names.
Registrar Change / Transfer:TIt is not possible to change the registrar of a .DE domain name.
